On his 73rd birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the extension of the Delhi Airport Metro Express line from Dwarka Sector 21 to a new metro station called ‘YashoBhoomi Dwarka Sector 25’ and also unveiled Phase 1 of the India International Convention and Expo Centre, known as ‘Yashobhoomi.’ Yashobhoomi is set to become one of the world’s largest facilities for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE).

Here’s everything you need to know about Yashobhoomi:

Yashobhoomi covers a vast project area of over 8.9 lakh square meters, with a total built-up area exceeding 1.8 lakh square meters, making it one of the world’s largest MICE facilities. The development of Yashobhoomi cost approximately Rs. 5,400 crore and includes an impressive Convention Center, multiple exhibition halls, and various other facilities.

According to the official statement, the opening of Phase 1 of the India International Convention and Expo Centre, also known as ‘Yashobhomi,’ in Dwarka aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of having world-class infrastructure for hosting meetings, conferences, and exhibitions in India.

The Convention Center, which spans over 73 thousand square meters, features 15 convention rooms, including the Main Auditorium, the Grand Ballroom, and 13 meeting rooms, accommodating a total of 11,000 delegates. Notably, the Convention Centre boasts the largest LED media facade in the country, as stated in the official announcement.

Yashobhoomi is now conveniently linked to the Delhi Airport Metro Express line through the inauguration of the new Dwarka Sector 25 metro station.
